This Privacy Policy explains how Detail Pals collects, uses, and protects your personal information. It complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
When you request a booking, we collect: your name, email address, phone number, service address, vehicle year/make/model, package selection, preferred date and time, any notes you provide, and any photos you upload of your vehicle.
When you visit our website, our hosting provider (Vercel) logs standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps. This is used for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To confirm and deliver your booking.
- To communicate with you about your appointment (email, SMS, or phone).
- To improve our service quality and follow up after service.
- To send optional post-service messages, only when you consent.
How we store it
Booking data and customer records are stored on Supabase (managed PostgreSQL, hosted in Canada Central). Photos are stored in a private, non-public storage bucket, accessible only to Detail Pals staff. Access is protected by industry-standard authentication and row-level security policies.
Third-party processors
- Supabase — database and file storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — outbound email notifications.
- Twilio — SMS notifications (only when SMS is enabled).
None of these providers use your data for their own marketing purposes. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to access the personal information Detail Pals holds about you, correct inaccurate information, and request deletion.

Retention
We retain booking records for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. Customer contact information is retained until you request deletion.
