DETAIL PALS

Detail Pals guide · How-to

Before and after your car detail — what to expect

TL;DR

Before: remove personal items, tell us about parking/access/pets, park in a shaded or covered spot if possible. During: we're set up in 5-10 min and you can leave; typical detail runs 3-7 hours. After: keep it garaged for 24 hours if possible; don't wash for a week after sealant.

A quick guide covering what happens before, during, and after a Detail Pals appointment. Follow it and you'll get the best possible finish.

Before we arrive

Remove personal items and valuables. We won't touch them but they'll be in our way.

Move car seats to easy-access spots if you want them cleaned around.

Confirm we have access to water and (usually) a standard 15A outlet within 20 feet.

In a condo parkade, let concierge know or set up short-term visitor access.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Park the vehicle correctly

Shaded or covered if possible. Direct sun heats paint and makes some detailing steps harder. If it's raining or below freezing outside, garage the car if you can.

  2. 2

    Meet the crew

We do a quick walkaround with you or without — noting pre-existing damage, discussing any specific concerns, confirming access. Takes 3-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Leave and let us work

Most customers don't stay. We'll message when we're 30 minutes from wrapping.

  4. 4

    Final inspection

We do a joint walkaround at the end. If anything isn't right, we fix it on the spot.

  5. 5

    First 24 hours

Keep it garaged if possible so sealant fully cures. Avoid driving through automatic washes for a week.

  6. 6

    First month

Regular gentle hand-washing preserves the finish. Avoid harsh soaps and pressure-wash detergents that strip sealant.
